Wednesday Movie
The movie this week is Australia starring
Nicole Kidman. In northern Australia before World War
II, an English aristocrat who inherits a sprawling ranch
reluctantly makes a pact with a stockman in order to
protect her new property from a takeover plot. As the
pair drive 2,000 head of cattle over unforgiving
landscape, they experience the bombing of Darwin,
Australia, by Japanese forces firsthand. Showtime is
7:15 p.m. at the Ramada. Thanks to the Ellingsons for
sponsoring this event and to Fred
Hills for
loaning this week's DVD.
